About the Kwe-Biz Mentorship Program
April 1, 2022 – March 31, 2023
The Kwe-Biz Indigenous women’s business mentorship program provides one-one-one mentorship. Whether you are a brand new startup, or a seasoned entrepreneur, mentorship provides opportunities to improve your business skills, gain helpful advice and expertise, and to be connected to local opportunities, funding, resources and more.
Mentorship is free, 100% confidential and can be conducted in-person in at our offices in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory or Kingston, or virtually using web meeting software.
Because of the current COVID-19 pandemic, most mentorship one-on-one sessions will be conducted virtually online at this time.
Program Eligibility
To be accepted into the Kwe-Biz Indigenous women’s mentorship program:
(1) You self-identify as an Indigenous woman (First Nations, Inuit or Métis)
(2) You reside in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Kingston, or surrounding region (within a 30 minute drive), or
(3) You reside in Ontario.
Applications will be reviewed within 10-business days of submission. This program is currently accepting up to 20 mentees for 2022-23. If more than 20 mentorship applications are received, Kwe-Biz will review the applications on a case-by-case basis. Successful applicants will be notified by email.
Due to the constraints of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) program, we are only accepting mentorship applications from Indigenous women at this time. If you are interested in entrepreneurship training and/or mentorship but you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria for the Kwe-Biz program, please contact us at [email protected] and we can notify you of future opportunities for entrepreneurship training.
About Mentorship
Are you ready to take actionable steps in building your business? Mentees agree to commit to 2-4 hours per month over six months in addition to time spent applying learning. The mentoring sessions focus on both business and personal growth.
Your Kwe-Biz mentor will be an experienced entrepreneur or business professional who is able to provide ongoing perspective, advice and support. Mentees will have the flexibility to work at their own pace and are encouraged to take full advantage of their mentorship experience.
